Roles and responsibilities

Some of the functions carried out by the Embassy include:

• Diplomatic Representation:  
The Embassy is responsible for managing official relations between the Argentine government and the governments of Norway and Iceland, advancing Argentina’s political and economic interests within the jurisdiction.

• Consular Assistance:  
Through its Consular Section, the Embassy provides support to Argentine citizens residing in or traveling through Norway or Iceland, offering services such as the issuance of passports and other documentation, legalizations, and assistance in emergencies.

• Bilateral Relations:  
The Embassy works to strengthen political, economic, cultural, and scientific relations between the countries, promoting the signing of agreements, accords, and treaties. The digital Treaty Library provides access to the Spanish‑language texts of all bilateral treaties signed between Argentina and Norway, and between Argentina and Iceland.

• Trade Promotion:  
It promotes investment in Argentina and trade with the countries within the jurisdiction, providing information and carrying out official démarches with local authorities to facilitate exchange. It also offers support to companies exploring commercial opportunities.

• Cultural Promotion:  
It fosters the promotion of Argentine cultural industries in the region among local institutions and cultural organizations. The Embassy collaborates in the dissemination of cultural events featuring Argentine participation and supports Argentine artists in promoting Argentine culture within the jurisdiction, highlighting their involvement in festivals, concerts, exhibitions, and other artistic expressions.
