Mirko Stopar and Hans Petter Blad will discuss about the relationship between cinema and literature in the writings of the Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges, and will show fragments of "Underworld" (Joseph von Sternberg, 1927) and "Invasión" (Hugo Santiago, 1967 - written by Borges).
The Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986) is famous for his surrealist accounts, but he was also a passionate screenwriter and film critic. The tools filming, such as the editing technique, had a great impact on the multifaceted authorship. But Borges' literature has also influenced various filmmakers, in genres such as science fiction and film noir.
