ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION: In some cases you can choose to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), which allows you to enter Argentina without a visa as the ETA replaces the visa.
Only foreigners who meet the following requirements can apply for ETA:
- Travel for tourism purposes
- Passport issued by one of these states
- Possessing a valid B2 visa issued by the United States. Length of validity of the United States visa must be at least 120 days
The ETA enables a period of stay of 90 days in Argentina and allows multiple entries and exits.
Cost: USD 50
Processing time: 20 days
Processing mode: online through the website of the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones (DNM). You will be required to pay the fee by card and attach a copy of the required US visa.
Access the DNM website here to apply for your ETA: http://www.migraciones.gov.ar/ave/index.htm
In case of enquiries or complaints, address to ave@migraciones.gov.ar. Note that Argentine Embassies and Consulates do not have competence regarding ETA.
The application for ETA does not prevent the subsequent application for a visa, in case the ETA has been rejected.
